*‘Sports for All’ day 23 May 2010 at the Rugby Club
Great response - there were 17 stands and a number of arena events throughout. Expect you have read the Surrey Ad article and if not you can read it HERE. The attendance was lower than hoped despite promoting it widely to schools, in Godalming and on local radio. As ever the road posters were removed so it is difficult. *Go for Gold Champions Fund
We have had stands at the two Godalming Fairs and of course Sports for All day promoting Go for Gold and selling draw tickets. Many thanks to the helpers and to Adelle Tracey, Liz Ng and Nikki Barlow for coming along as it really helps to have the athletes present. Next we are at the Concert in the Park on 27 June and the Godalming Food Festival on 3 July.

A number of outstanding performances from our team. Liz Ng has been selected for the Fencing Commonwealth Games with Nikki Barlow as a reserve, Robyn Bignell at the British Champions at Synchro an international event held in Gloucester came 5th in the individuals, took Gold in the Duets and the team was placed 3rd and Paul Wycherley in the Canoe World Cup took 6th place in the individuals and in the fours. Probably much more but that’s all that has come through.

Also great news that Adelle has funding from TSB/Lloyds.

Many thanks to Holloway Hill Bowling Club whose President has made Go for Gold her charity for the year. Any other clubs looking for a local charity to support just nominate Go for Gold and help us towards that target of £35,000 – it really is your charity so please help if possible.

Those clubs that have not yet started towards Clubmark should contact their NGB to find out what is required and contact one of the local clubs who have already achieved it. It is a recognition that the community will expect and is likely to become a requirement by funders, so it is a MUST.
