Free swimming for under 8s in Waverley

It is the news that all kids have been waiting for. Free swimming for under 8s is available at a leisure centre near you from Thursday 24 July until Wednesday 3 September.

Youngsters wanting to enjoy the free swimming should register their details and obtain a ‘free swim’ card from the reception of one of the four participating centres. The card must be presented each time they come swimming. The four leisure centres taking part in the scheme are: Cranleigh Leisure centre, Village Way, Godalming Leisure Centre, Broadwater Park, Summers Road, Farnham Sports Centre, Dogflud Way and The Herons Leisure Centre, Kings Road, Haslemere. This is the first time any scheme of its kind has taken place within Waverley.

Councillor Roger Steel (Con), Waverley's portfolio holder for leisure, says: "What a fantastic scheme this is, and one that as many people as possible should take advantage of. Waverley's leisure provision is improving rapidly now, as ideas such as this one demonstrate."

Chris Godwin,Area Manager for Waverley DC Leisure said, "We are proud to be able to offer a scheme such as this one to under 8s this summer and we hope to be able to open this scheme up to under 16s in the future."
